Terms of Use

The contract of your reservation is made with the website travelcompass.gr, which is committed to offer you the various services that are part of your trip, and you, the Customer (hereinafter the Traveler).

A reservation is considered valid only if the relevant pre-agreed price is paid within the predetermined time frame and the services are confirmed by e-mail (info@travelcompass.gr). Only then is there a contract between the Traveller and TC. The stated terms of participation are imposed on TC by the individual suppliers.

AGENCY RESPONSIBILITIES
The Travel Compass does not have its own fleet of ships or airplanes nor its own hotel complexes in order to be responsible for their proper or non-proper operation. Its role is purely mediating for the purpose of providing services to Travellers and therefore its responsibilities lie purely in matters relating to organisational weaknesses and/or omissions. TC in no way abuses the extenuating circumstances entailed by its mediator. role and makes every effort to meet the expectations of Travelers. However, it is in no way responsible for anomalies that may arise which it is unable to predict and/or control effectively, including:

  • Accidents, diseases or unpleasant organic effects from climatic conditions, inability to adapt to different time zones (jetlag), altitude, epidemics, food poisonings or inadequate cleanliness conditions.
  • Any difficulties that may be caused by unforeseen situations or events of force majeure, such as adverse weather conditions, strikes, coups d’états, wars, hijackings, fires, earthquakes, floods and any other similar situation.
  • Damage, loss or theft of luggage, personal belongings, money or travel documents and any consequences of a criminal or other criminal act.

For any problem that may arise, the Traveller must inform TC in writing as soon as possible in order to allow time to find a solution to the problem. Any complaint or claim or complaint must be addressed to TC immediately after the return of the trip, accompanied by the relevant documents and supporting documents, and no later than seven (07) working days. In letters sent after the expiry of the above deadline, TC reserves the right not to reply.

TC shall have no liability whatsoever for damages that may be caused to the Traveller if such damages result from acts or omissions: a) of the customer himself, b) a third party outside the provision of the services provided for in the contract and which the parties could not foresee or avoid;  In any case, TC will make every effort and offer all possible assistance to the extent of its capabilities, so that such situations can be dealt with in the best possible way.

TRAVELLERS’
RESPONSIBILITIESFor all Travellers, the possession of a valid passport is required.Each Traveler is responsible for the issuance, validity, validity and endorsement of his/her travel documents (passports, residence and work permits, etc.), which are required for departure, transit and stay in the countries included in the trip, as well as for their return (for those who need them) to Greece.

Travellers are responsible for the actions of the accompanying children and must supervise them continuously throughout the journey for their safety and conduct. In the event that the Traveler interrupts his trip by his own decision and leaves the hotel, he is not entitled to any further service or compensation and the responsibility and the costs of any travel are borne exclusively by him/ her.

CAUTION: Many trips may cause disturbances in the normal functioning of the Travellers’ body, especially traveling to areas with extreme temperature conditions (cold, heatwave), or to tropical and more sensitive or disease-causing areas such as those of Africa, Asia or South America. Especially for excursions around the world where the World Health Organization requires or recommends health treatment (vaccination or medication) TC bears no responsibility. We recommend that Travelers consult their doctor or the appropriate Health Center before their trip, especially for elderly people. Due to frequent changes in epidemic areas, we always recommend that you contact the Health Service of your area.

PRICESThe price changes are immediately notified on the internet on the website www.travelcompass.gr. The price change may also occur after the Traveller’s registration. In this case the Traveller has the right to accept the corresponding increase in the price of the trip or to cancel his participation, if he/she so wishes, however, in such a case he/she shall be subject to cancellation costs. If the Traveller wishes to have an extension of the stay or other additional stay on a package trip.  service that is different or not included in the reservation, its settlement requires the payment of the charge that will result from the change or service (room price difference charge, cost of additional services) if such a change is possible. TC reserves the right to cancel any pre-departure reservation for reasons of force majeure or security, i.e. for circumstances beyond its control, unusual and/or unforeseen circumstances. In this case, TC is obliged to notify travelers of the cancellation 3 days prior to departure, by refunding to the Traveler the amounts paid or offering another trip, without any other responsibility. On the other hand, in the event that extraordinary circumstances arise during the journey and in order to ensure its safe course or even the repatriation of the participants, some extraordinary expenses are required, the Travellers are obliged to agree to pay those costs on the spot. Any temporary coverage of these extraordinary expenses by TC does not imply in any way its acceptance of liability, but only temporary financial service of the Traveller, with the latter’s obligation to immediately settle the expenses immediately after its reimbursement.

CHILDREN’S
DISCOUNTSChildren from 2 to 12 years old usually pay a reduced cost of accommodation, in case they live in the same room with their parents.  

CANCELLATIONSTo ensure hotels and other necessary services, TC can pay significant amounts before the trips it has planned and be bound by specific compensation obligations in case of partial or total cancellation. For this reason it is in turn obliged to withhold the entire deposit or to request additional payment in case of untimely cancellation. There is no right to cancel due to a change of flight times from  morning in the evening or vice versa, or due to the replacement of hotels with others of the same or higher category, or due to forced minor changes in the schedule that do not significantly change the whole character of the trip. Also, there is no right to cancel participation due to illness, or medical and accidents of the Traveler before the departure date. Alternatively, a Traveller who is unable to participate in the package, for which he/she has already paid a deposit and/or payment, may assign his/her reservation to another person who meets all the required conditions for the package, after first and foremost informing TC in writing at least 10 working days before departure, unless otherwise stated in the description of the specific trip.  The Traveler who assigns and the Traveler who accepts the reservation. Cancellations are made in writing to TC.

TC makes every effort to avoid cancellation charges when the cancellation results from illness, accidents, medical examinations and similar reasons, which do not create conditions for cancellation in accordance with the lessons of common experience without withholding cancellation fees. For this reason, we recommend the conclusion of private insurance for the amounts you wish as well as for the coverage of their cancellation fees for illness, accidents, medical examinations, etc. The settlement of bills for cancellations is made by our office no more than 5 days after the end of the trip.

CANCELLATION FEES FOR INDIVIDUAL TRIPS & PACKAGED TRIPS ON DEMAND

For individual trips, different cancellation terms apply according to the terms of each hotel. Cancellation terms are listed on the Booking Confirmation document.

For package trips that have been prepared on request, the terms of cancellations and the payment schedule are indicated in the initial information proposal of our office that is sent by e-mail to the representative of the group, as well as in the booking confirmation document with the confirmation of the services. In the event that the deposit/payment is not deposited within the predetermined schedule by one or more participants, TC reserves the right to cancel the trip. Travellers are obliged to pay the applicable cancellation fees. Specifically, for the preparation of the program upon request, 100 Euros are withheld from each traveler as a fee for the preparation of the program and the time of their service.

CANCELLATIONS OF INDIVIDUAL SERVICES

For individual travel services, cancellation fees are valid as follows:

Hotel reservations through www.travelcompass.gr website. The booking confirmation schedule is indicated in the confirmation received by the traveler in his/her e-mail at the time of booking. In case of non-payment of the reservation within the predetermined deadline, the reservation is automatically cancelled. In case of payment by credit card, the Voucher of the stay is automatically sent to the Traveler, which he is obliged to show at the check-in at the hotel.

INSURANCE
TC has entered into a Civil Professional Indemnity insurance policy with MBM, in accordance with the legislation, which covers any suppliers’ charges, which arise from the non-execution or improper execution of a reservation, as well as in case of insolvency or bankruptcy with the obligation to return the paid to the Travelers.

HOTELS /
ACCOMMODATIONAll accommodation used by TC has the legal and valid operating license required by the competent authorities of the host State. There is no uniform international classification of hotels, however, the use of stars has been accepted or used and is valid as follows:

2* = Tourist

3* = B’ category

4* = A’ category

5* = Luxury

Rooms in most hotels around the world have been designed to accommodate two beds. Therefore, usually triple rooms are actually double rooms with the addition of an extra bed. Some hotels accept the addition of a fourth bed in order to serve the Travelers, but it goes without saying that the space will be significantly limited. Usually, the rooms are delivered at 14:00 and are available to residents until 12:00 on the day of departure. TC, of course, makes every effort to extend the stay limit to accommodate Travellers departing on evening or early morning flights. This service will be available if and when the rooms have not been given to other hotel guests. In case of late arrival of the individual Travelers at the hotel, for example after the day of their scheduled arrival, and if they have not informed accordingly, the hotel has the right to dispose of the rest of the reserved period if requested. Therefore, any delays in the connections of flights of individual Travellers to distant destinations must be reported to TC in order to notify the hotels at the respective destination locations.

Drinks, unless expressly stated, are not included in the price of half-board or full-board diet. The same shall apply in the case of other personal accounts which are not included in the room rate. We remind Travelers to pay any personal bills (phone calls, drinks, etc.) before leaving the hotel. Under no circumstances shall TC encumber travellers’ personal accounts.

MEALSThe reservations include those mentioned in the agreed breakfasts and meals. TC bears no responsibility for any quantitative deficiency or for the quality of the meals since these are determined exclusively by the same hotels/local restaurants.Christmas and New Year departures do not include a festive dinner in the hotels and the food offered is often a meal.

APOSKEYES
Every Traveller is responsible for his luggage. TC has no responsibility in the event that a suitcase breaks down and a claim for compensation is not accepted for possible damage to a suitcase. We recommend that Travellers, if possible, have only one piece of baggage and not many small ones which make it difficult to travel.  
 PRACTICAL RECOMMENDATIONS
At airports and ports travellers should be at least two hours before their departure. If there is no escort on the journey, they must confirm their subsequent flights with the airline and make sure from which airport and station the flight departs and the time of the flight. They are encouraged to carry their passports with them at all times and to have arranged from the day before, what may be needed in the room or cabin to enable timely control.

DISPUTE SETTLEMENTS
TC and the Traveller are jointly bound to resolve in good faith any dispute that may arise. In the event of a final out-of-court dispute, Greek law shall apply and the Courts of Athens shall have jurisdiction.

SPECIAL
NOTESOrganised journey in accordance with a predetermined combination of at least two of the following elements, namely, transport, accommodation, other tourist services not complementary to the transport or stay, which represent a significant part of the package, provided that this service exceeds 24 hours or includes one overnight stay and is offered for sale at a total price.
